Former postal worker sentenced for stealing and tampering with over 1,200 pieces of mail due to addiction.
Former An Post employee Seán Hogan, convicted of stealing and tampering with thousands of pieces of mail due to drug and alcohol addiction, received a fully suspended two-year sentence. Hogan, who worked in Cork, admitted to opening letters for cash, leading to the discovery of 1,692 postal items, 1,257 of which were tampered with. He has since completed a drug treatment program, compensated victims, and found new employment.
