HSBC faced a major outage, blocking online and mobile banking access, but resolved it by evening.

HSBC experienced an outage on Tuesday afternoon, preventing users from logging into their online and mobile banking accounts. The bank apologized and confirmed that debit and credit cards, digital wallets, and ATMs were still functioning. The issue was resolved by 5:50 pm. This follows similar outages at Barclays, Lloyds, and Halifax. A group of MPs has requested information from nine banks on recent IT failures and compensation payouts.
