Crooked House pub rebuilding inquiry postponed due to owners' appeal and ongoing fire investigation.

The public inquiry for rebuilding the historic Crooked House pub in Himley, near Dudley, has been postponed due to a High Court appeal by the owners, Adam and Carly Taylor, against South Staffordshire Council's enforcement notice. The council had demanded the pub be rebuilt after it was demolished following a fire in August 2023, alleging a breach of planning controls. The inquiry, originally set for March, will resume once the ongoing criminal investigation into the fire concludes. Six people arrested in connection with the fire remain under investigation.
