Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater has created "Sacred Songs," a new piece reviving lost songs from its iconic 1960 work, "Revelations." Choreographed by interim artistic director Matthew Rushing and featuring music from musicians with jazz and gospel roots, the piece aims to resonate with contemporary audiences while maintaining themes of faith, perseverance, and the African American experience. The music album was released in January.
