LA proposes tougher laws against looting and impersonating emergency workers during disasters.

Los Angeles officials are proposing new legislation, AB 469, to strengthen laws against looting and impersonating emergency workers during disasters, following over two dozen arrests during January's wildfires. The bill, which has bipartisan support, would increase looting penalties from a misdemeanor to a felony, with potential sentences up to four years. Disaster recovery centers will also be available to assist fire victims.
