Senamile Masango, South Africa's first black nuclear scientist, died on February 9, 2025, at age 37. A trailblazer in nuclear science, she was the first African woman to conduct experiments at CERN and founded Women in Science and Engineering (WISE), promoting science education and empowerment for women and disadvantaged communities. Masango's contributions earned her numerous honors and tributes from across the globe.
