New BYD Shark 6 ute can't remove factory tub due to risks, but a cab-chassis version is coming post-April 2025.

The BYD Shark 6, a plug-in hybrid ute, cannot have its factory tub removed due to integrated high-voltage cables and critical systems, posing risks of damage and voiding the warranty. A cab-chassis version is in development to cater to fleet and business buyers, expected after April 1, 2025, when PHEV tax exemptions end. Additionally, a version with a 3500kg braked towing capacity is planned for release in 2026.
