A Māori rāhui restricts access to part of Maketū Beach in New Zealand after a man's death.

A traditional Māori restriction, known as a rāhui, has been placed on a section of Maketū Beach in New Zealand following the discovery of an unresponsive man who could not be revived. The rāhui, which covers the area between Okurei Point and Little Waihi Bar, will remain in effect until February 15. A blessing ceremony has been conducted in respect to the deceased.
