The Australian government has announced a $573.3 million investment in women's health, aiming to lower costs and increase access to medications and treatments. Starting March 1, birth control pills like Yaz and Yasmin, and menopause medications such as Estrogel and Prometrium, will be added to the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme, making them cheaper. The package also includes more Medicare rebates for menopause assessments and long-term contraceptive procedures, and funding for additional pelvic pain clinics.
