Oman launches $186M project to connect Masirah Island, cutting emissions by 80,000 tons yearly.

Oman Electricity Transmission Company (OETC) has started a project to connect Masirah Island with a new grid station and cables, enhancing energy efficiency and reducing carbon emissions by over 80,000 tons annually. The $186 million project includes a 25 km subsea cable and a 9 km underground cable, aiming to boost local services and attract future investments while moving Oman towards its Net-Zero emissions target by 2050.
