Local businesses competed in the "Loving Mugs" chili event, with awards for categories including People's Choice and spiciest chili.

The eighth annual "Loving Mugs" chili event was held on February 5th at the Penticton Art Gallery. Five awards were given out, including the People's Choice Award to Cannery Brewing for their Wild Boar & Smoked Bacon Chili, the K.D. Lang Award for best vegetarian chili to Gratify's Mediterranean Chili, the Showmanship Award to Highway 97 Brewing for their Beer-braised chili, the Climate Changer Award to Stillfood Bistro for their Caliente Cantina chili, and the Ring of Fire Award for the spiciest chili to Palmer Kitchen & Spirits' Quinoa Chili. The event encourages local businesses to create unique chili dishes.
