India signs ₹642.17 crore deal for naval vessels' fire control systems, boosting local manufacturing.

The Indian Ministry of Defence has signed a ₹642.17 crore contract with Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) to equip 11 new offshore patrol vessels and three cadet training ships with 28 EON-51 Electro Optical Fire Control Systems. This procurement, aligned with the 'Aatmanirbhar Bharat' initiative, aims to boost domestic manufacturing and employment, involving various Indian industries, including MSMEs. The EON-51 system enhances target detection and classification for the Indian Navy.
