Cam Myers, a 19-year-old runner, broke the under-20 world mile record with a time of 3:50.08 at a meet in Massachusetts. Just days earlier, he set a national record in the 3000 meters. At the Wanamaker Mile in New York, Myers improved his under-20 world record to 3:47.48, finishing third behind the overall winner who set a new world record. Myers has now bettered a world under-20 or national record in each of his three races this year and has qualified for the World Championships in Tokyo.
