Malaysia bans three books, citing threats to public morality, under a 1984 publications act.

The Malaysian government has banned three books under the Printing Presses and Publications Act 1984, stating they could harm public morality. The books are "My Shadow Is Purple" by Scott Stuart, "Koleksi Puisi Masturbasi" by Amir Hamzah Akal Ali, and "All That's Left In The World" by Erik J Brown. The ban took effect on January 21 and 22, and those found distributing the books can face up to three years in prison or a fine of RM20,000.
