Former postal supervisor admits to stealing $284K in checks and $40K in goods from mail.

A former U.S. Postal Service supervisor, Joivian Tijuana Hayes, has pleaded guilty to stealing checks worth about $284,000 and other goods valued up to $40,000 from mail between early last year and December. Hayes, 36, forged signatures to deposit the checks into her own accounts and stole various valuables including gold coins and currency. She faces up to five years for theft and 15 years for unlawful transfer, with sentencing scheduled for May 23.
