Bangladesh launches $2.4 billion food safety project, including new labs in three cities.
The Bangladesh government has launched a Tk 2,409.70 crore project to enhance food safety by setting up one reference lab in Dhaka and two divisional labs in Chattogram and Khulna.
Funded by the government and a loan from Japan, the project aims to improve food testing standards and build necessary infrastructure, including a seven-story building in Dhaka and four-story labs in Chattogram and Khulna.
Completion is set for December 2034.
