Six new Indigenous justice centres open in British Columbia to offer culturally tailored legal help.

The British Columbia government, in collaboration with the BC First Nations Justice Council, has launched six new Indigenous justice centres across the province. These centres, located in Kamloops, Williams Lake, Cranbrook, Port Hardy, Fort St. John, and a shared site for Burns Lake and Hazelton, will provide culturally appropriate legal advice, representation, and referrals to local support services for First Nations communities. The initiative aims to enhance access to justice and support reconciliation efforts. Attorney-General Niki Sharma and Boyd Peters, vice-chair of the B.C. First Nations Justice Council, made the announcement in Kamloops.
