Romania reported over 170,000 cases of respiratory infections and flu between January 27 and February 2, with over 12,500 clinically diagnosed as influenza. Health Minister Alexandru Rafila mobilized healthcare resources, establishing 300 medical centers for diagnosis and treatment. He urged the public to avoid crowds, wear masks if symptomatic, and get vaccinated. Despite the surge, schools will remain open, with a focus on monitoring and isolating symptomatic students. The country has recorded 35 flu-related deaths.
