Bank unions in India plan a strike for a better work week and improved job security.

Bank unions in India are planning a two-day nationwide strike starting March 24 to demand a five-day work week, adequate recruitment, and the withdrawal of performance review directives. The United Forum of Bank Unions (UFBU) is leading the strike, which also calls for improved job security and an increase in the Gratuity Act ceiling to ₹25 lakh. The unions argue that recent government directives threaten public sector bank employees' job security.
