Legendary musician Van Morrison has been named the first "artist in residence" at Queen's University Belfast, his hometown. This year-long partnership includes providing two students with fully funded scholarships to pursue music careers and features special live performances by Morrison across Belfast. The initiative coincides with the university’s 180th anniversary and Morrison’s upcoming 80th birthday. Queen’s University president, Professor Ian Greer, noted that the collaboration will enrich cultural offerings and provide valuable opportunities for students and the community.
