Three medical students start a year-long rural healthcare training program in Hāwera, New Zealand.

Three fifth-year medical students were welcomed to Hāwera Hospital in South Taranaki, New Zealand, for a year-long rural healthcare training program called the Rural Medical Immersion Programme (RMIP). The initiative, a partnership between the University of Auckland and Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora, aims to enhance healthcare in rural areas. The students will live in a furnished home, immersing themselves in the community. This program increases the likelihood of students returning to rural areas for their careers.
