Survey finds international graduates in Canada earn 20% less and are more likely to underutilize their degrees.
Statistics Canada's survey of over 83,000 international graduates from 2020 reveals they are more likely to hold jobs below their education levels compared to Canadian peers, leading to a 20% lower median annual income.
While 37% of international graduates with bachelor's degrees held jobs requiring university degrees, the figure was 60% for Canadians.
International graduates also tended to work more in sales and services sectors.
Despite these disparities, both groups reported similar job satisfaction levels.
