Sonos lays off 200 employees, or 12% of its workforce, as part of a restructuring effort.

Sonos, the smart speaker company, is laying off 200 employees, or about 12% of its workforce, in its second round of cuts this year. The layoffs follow an unpopular app update and declining demand for its products. Interim CEO Tom Conrad is restructuring the company into functional groups for hardware, software, design, quality, and operations to streamline processes and improve future product launches. The restructuring is expected to cost $15-18 million in severance and benefits.
