Odisha requests increased central tax revenue share and funding for local needs and disaster response.
Odisha seeks to increase its share of central tax revenue to 50% from 41%, requesting a total of Rs 12,59,148 crore for the 2026-31 period to cover revenue deficits, local needs, and disaster response.
The state also demands that 2% of projected gross revenue receipts be allocated to local bodies and that the central government fund 100% of disaster preparedness.
The 16th Finance Commission, led by Arvind Panagariya, is reviewing these demands.
