Nigeria appoints new police chiefs for Taraba and Anambra to tackle rising security issues.
The Police Service Commission has appointed new Commissioners of Police for Taraba and Anambra States to address rising security concerns, including a surge in kidnappings and the recent Nibo massacre. Chukwudi Chris Ariekpere from Abia State will lead Taraba, while Livingston Ikioye Orutugu from Bayelsa State will take over Anambra. The commission also promoted 6,618 senior police officers, aiming to strengthen law enforcement and combat banditry.
