Former rapper G. Dep uses his past to counsel at-risk youth after serving time for murder.

Former rapper G. Dep, convicted of second-degree murder and sentenced to over 13 years in prison, is now helping at-risk youth avoid crime. Now 50, he works at SCAN-Harbor, speaking to young people about his experiences to motivate them to stay out of prison. Since his release, more than 1,000 juvenile lifers have been released due to Supreme Court rulings against mandatory life without parole for juveniles.
