The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has secured the mayor's position in Bathinda Municipal Corporation, Punjab, with councillor Padamjeet Mehta, 26, elected as mayor. Despite the Congress party's majority, internal divisions allowed AAP to gain support from other councillors. AAP has now won control of six municipal corporations in Punjab, including Bathinda. The position will be temporary until the next elections in February 2026.
