Louisiana recalls oysters linked to 15 norovirus illnesses; harvesting halted for 21 days.

The Louisiana Department of Health (LDH) has recalled oysters from Area 3 after 15 people in New Orleans fell ill with norovirus-like symptoms. Harvesting in the affected area, which includes Chandeleur Islands and surrounding marshes, has been closed for at least 21 days. Two patients were hospitalized but have since been discharged. The LDH stresses that oysters from other areas in Louisiana are safe to eat.
