Scientists develop targeted drug delivery for arthritis, reducing inflammation and side effects.

Researchers at India's Institute of Nano Science and Technology have created a new drug delivery system for rheumatoid arthritis that targets inflammation within joints, releasing medication only when needed. This system, using microspheres loaded with methotrexate, significantly reduced swelling and inflammation in animal studies. It offers a safer, more effective treatment by minimizing side effects and reducing the need for frequent injections. The technology could also benefit other inflammatory diseases.
