Researchers find classical music, especially Mexican tunes, calms fetal heart rates.

Researchers in Mexico found that playing classical music to fetuses can calm their heart rates and may promote healthy development. They tested two pieces—"The Swan" by Saint-Saëns and "Arpa de Oro" by Martínez—on 36 pregnant women and observed more stable heart rate patterns in the fetuses. The Mexican melody had a stronger impact. The team plans to study other music genres for similar effects.
