Octopus Energy warns 600,000 UK customers to upgrade meters by June 30 or lose heating and face higher bills.
Octopus Energy has warned 600,000 UK customers with outdated Radio Teleswitch Service (RTS) meters that they risk losing heating and hot water, and facing higher bills, if they don't upgrade to smart meters by June 30. The BBC is discontinuing longwave radio signals that RTS meters rely on to switch between cheaper off-peak and peak rates. Upgrading is urgent to avoid potential service disruptions.
