North Korea and Russia are building a bridge over the Tumen River to boost trade by 2026.

A joint motorway bridge project between North Korea and Russia is underway, aiming to complete a two-lane bridge over the Tumen River by the end of 2026. The bridge, spanning 800 meters, is intended to enhance trade and travel between the nations. Russian company TonnelYuzhStroi is responsible for the construction as part of a broader agreement signed in 2021 by leaders Kim Jong-un and Vladimir Putin.
