Guatemalan immigrant faces over a decade in prison for labor trafficking, kidnapping, and raping a minor.

Augusto Mateo Francisco, a 33-year-old legal permanent resident from Guatemala living in Dunkirk, has pleaded guilty to labor trafficking and kidnapping charges, facing a minimum of 10 years in prison. Francisco helped illegal Guatemalan migrants enter the U.S., providing them with housing and work at local farms while charging them for expenses and taking their wages. He also repeatedly raped a 16-year-old migrant girl and held her captive for two weeks in 2020. His sentencing is set for May 30.
