A recent caste survey in Telangana, India, shows that Backward Classes (BCs) make up 56.33% of the state's population, including Muslim minorities. Scheduled Castes (SCs) and Scheduled Tribes (STs) represent 17.43% and 10.45%, respectively. Muslims account for 12.56% of the population, with 10.08% being BCs. The survey, conducted within 50 days and covering 96.9% of households, will guide data-driven welfare policies and social justice initiatives. The findings will be presented to the state Cabinet and Assembly on February 4.
