The Indian mining sector saw significant growth in key minerals during the first nine months of 2024-25. Iron ore production, which makes up 69% of total mineral output, increased by 2.5% to 208 million metric tonnes. Manganese ore and chromite production also rose by 8.3% and 9.5%, respectively. Bauxite production grew by 6.5%, while primary aluminum and refined copper production increased by 1.6% and 7.3%, signaling strong demand in sectors like steel, energy, and construction.
