Honda invests $1 billion in Ohio to shift manufacturing to electric vehicles and sustainable practices.

Honda is investing $1 billion in Ohio to transform its manufacturing for electric vehicles (EVs), including installing six "giga presses" and a new manufacturing system for EV battery cases. This marks the company's first major manufacturing change in the U.S. The Ohio hub, including a $3.5 billion battery plant, will produce a variety of vehicles and aims to be zero environmentally impactful by 2050. Honda plans to exclusively sell zero-emission vehicles by 2040. The new flexible production system will allow Honda to adjust output based on market demand.
