Global study finds medications to prevent heart diseases underused, especially in poorer countries.

A recent study in the Journal of the American College of Cardiology reveals that medications for preventing further cardiovascular diseases (CVD) are underused globally, particularly in poorer countries. The research observed 11,677 participants across 17 countries over 12 years and found little improvement in medication usage. The study suggests that global goals to reduce early deaths from CVD may not be met due to this underutilization.
