Ghana's President appoints new leaders for national planning and financial intelligence roles.

Ghana's President, John Dramani Mahama, has appointed Dr. Nii Moi Thompson as the Chairman of the National Development Planning Commission (NDPC), pending Council of State approval. Dr. Thompson, a development economist, was instrumental in Ghana's 40-Year Development Plan and led the country's delegation in shaping the Sustainable Development Goals. Additionally, Mr. Albert Kwadwo Twum Boafo, a finance expert, has been named Acting CEO of the Financial Intelligence Centre (FIC) until the board is reformed.
