Czech government offers compensation to Roma women sterilized under a coercive program.

Anna Adamova, a Czech Roma woman, was forcibly sterilized in 1991, part of a program targeting Roma women until 2012. The Czech government now offers $14,000 in compensation to victims, with over 2,300 applications submitted, and 1,581 cases settled. The program has caused significant trauma, and while a compensation deadline passed in January, parliament is expected to extend it.
