Pakistan may see a reduction of Rs2 per unit in electricity prices starting March 2025, providing relief to millions of consumers. The request, filed by power distribution companies to the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (Nepra), is set for review at a public hearing on February 12. If approved, this adjustment could lower electricity costs by over Rs52 billion. Additionally, the government plans to announce a further Rs7 per unit reduction for the industrial sector starting April, aiming for annual savings of Rs137 billion.
