Mangaluru police shot at key bank robbery suspect Murugandi Thevar, 36, during an attempt to retrieve a hidden gun, after he allegedly attacked officers and tried to flee. Thevar was arrested days after the Kotekar Cooperative Society heist, which involved the theft of 18.6 kg of gold and ₹11.67 lakh. Police have recovered most of the gold and arrested four suspects, with investigations ongoing for additional accomplices.
