The largest Hindu temple in the Southern Hemisphere, the BAPS Hindu Mandir, has been unveiled in Johannesburg, South Africa. Built by the BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha, the complex aims to foster intercultural dialogue and offers educational courses. Despite Hindus making up less than 2% of South Africa's population, the temple serves the significant Indian community where Hinduism is prevalent. The opening was attended by spiritual leader Mahant Swami Maharaj and features sustainable architecture.
