The Indian government anticipates receiving a record dividend of ₹2.56 lakh crore from the RBI and public sector financial institutions in FY26, an increase from the previous year. The RBI's contribution is projected to be around 80% of the total, with the remainder from state-owned banks. Moody's, however, does not foresee an immediate upgrade to India's sovereign rating, despite efforts to manage finances and reduce the fiscal deficit.
