India launches Rs 2 crore loan scheme for 500,000 new women and marginalized entrepreneurs.

The Indian government, under Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, announced a Rs 2 crore term loan scheme for 500,000 first-time women, Scheduled Caste, and Scheduled Tribe entrepreneurs in the Union Budget 2025-26. The initiative aims to boost entrepreneurship among marginalized groups and includes plans for a manufacturing mission and increased credit guarantee cover to Rs 20 crore with a 1% fee. A national institute for food technology and entrepreneurship will also be established in Bihar.
