U.S. Naval Academy locked down due to threats; parts of campus reopened after response.

The U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis was locked down on January 31 following threats to buildings in the North Severn Complex. Local law enforcement responded, and by 3:40 p.m., Gates 8, 1, and the Visitor Control Center were reopened. However, the North Severn Complex remained locked down. Route 2 was temporarily closed but has since reopened. The exact reason for the lockdown is unclear, and updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
