India's budget exempts life-saving drugs from customs duty and plans new medical seats and cancer centers.

India's Finance Minister announced in Budget 2025 that 36 life-saving drugs, including cancer and rare disease treatments, will be exempt from customs duty, with 37 more to follow. The budget also includes exemptions for essential minerals and components for ship and EV battery manufacturing. Additionally, 10,000 new medical seats and cancer centers in district hospitals are planned, along with broadband for schools and healthcare for gig workers.
