Five Thai hostages held in Gaza are freed in a prisoner exchange between Israel and Hamas.

Five Thai hostages held captive in Gaza for over a year have been released in a prisoner exchange involving Israel and Hamas. The Thai farm workers, abducted during Hamas' attack on Israel in October 2023, were among 31 initially taken; 23 were released by the end of 2023, and two died in captivity. The five released are now under medical care in Israel and are expected to return to Thailand within 10 days. Thailand's Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra thanked the countries involved in securing their release. One Thai hostage remains unaccounted for.
