Brazil's navy has confirmed the location of the World War II shipwreck, Vital de Oliveira, torpedoed by Nazi Germany in 1944. Initially found in 2011, the civilian vessel, repurposed for naval use, was transporting supplies and personnel when it sank, resulting in 99 deaths out of 270 aboard. The navy used sonar technology to confirm the wreck's position off Rio de Janeiro.
