Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva has warned that Brazil will impose reciprocal tariffs if the US increases taxes on Brazilian goods. Lula prefers improved relations over a trade war. He also criticized President Trump's withdrawal from the Paris climate accord, calling it a "step back for human civilization." The US currently has a trade surplus with Brazil of $253 million.
