New Zealand's Hawke's Bay hospital gets $29.3M expansion to boost cancer and imaging services.

New Zealand's Hawke's Bay Fallen Soldiers' Memorial Hospital will receive a $29.3 million expansion for its radiology unit, funded by the government's health investment. The expansion will double CT scanning capacity, add an MRI scanner, and introduce a Linear Accelerator (LINAC) for cancer treatment. This will reduce patient wait times and allow about 500 people per year to receive treatment locally instead of traveling. The project is set for completion in two stages, with the first part finishing by the end of 2025 and the second in mid-2027.
